Jeffrey Harp
Managing Director
Mr. Harp joins Franklin Global following a twenty career with the FBI. Mr. Harp retired from the FBI in 2015 and began a career in the private sector as a corporate security expert working for a $3 billion software company located in the San Francisco Bay area with a presence in more than 30 countries worldwide. He was responsible for Crisis Management, Work Place Violence, Executive Protection, Traveler Safety and Security, and Security for all Special Events. He also serves as the Head of Security for the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission and an expert security consultant for CBS in San Francisco.
His work in the FBI included managing counterterrorism investigations, operations in Afghanistan, Iraq and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and Commander of the SWAT Team.
Mr. Harp served five years on the FBI’s elite Hostage Rescue Team conducting sensitive missions in Asia, Africa, Europe, South America and Mexico. He served as a Legal Attaché and Chief Law Enforcement Official for the U.S. Government for the diplomatic mission in Bulgaria, Macedonia and Albania. Following his diplomatic assignment, he was promoted to 2nd in Command at the San Francisco Field office where he led the intelligence, SWAT, surveillance and technical penetration programs.
Mr. Harp earned a dual bachelor’s degrees from the University of Illinois where he was a member of the varsity wrestling team, captain and NCAA qualifier. He also competed in the 1984 Olympic Trials. He completed Post Graduate MBA studies at Indiana University and is a member of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals and ASIS. He is Peace Officer Standards and Testing (P.O.S.T.) certified in post blast investigations, certified in aircraft disasters investigations, and served as a tactical, defensive tactics and tactical instructor for the FBI and is a licensed California firearms instructor.
Mr. Harp consults with law firms, Fortune 500 companies, small businesses and private clients on investigative matters and security related topics.
